                                                             Misun Won

"I have used the circle to develop a variety of complex, handmade contemporary jewellery forms in silver, based on the idea of Korean patchwork. Using a ‘patchwork’ of circles, I make rhythmical structures and patterns from one sheet of silver, creating complex forms on their own or in combination with other materials such as colour thread and silk cord, creating beautiful, wearable jewellery"

This designer Misun Won is inspired by circles on an idea of her Korean culture and uses oxidation on her silver jewellery as to give diversity. and I see it relates with my pieces that are oxidised cause some of them are plain silver also including pearls.

                                                              Karl Fritsch

I found a jeweller who uses oxidising in his jewellery a lot to make certain elements in his pieces pop out uses real objects like nails, pearls, stones and gemstones. I thought that Karl Fritsch is one of the people i relate to in terms of the intentions when making our jewellery.

                                          Answering my Btech proposal

I thought in going on about this project I am going to play with getting the interesting colours on metal without using enamel and resin the usual way of getting colour on jewellery. the realistic look on the flower petals was going to be achieved by forging and folding.the different oxidised colour is going to differentiate the type of flowers as I researched the flowers I was interested in.  Here is the link to my personal collection as to how I will be going on with my jewellery  https://za.pinterest.com/fezekagcabashe/my-collection-pearl-destruction/
                                           Oxidising Silver

my inspiration for my personal project was based on oxidizing silver and play of colour on metal. I enjoyed working with seeing different colour change on metal and I felt working with flowers that it would bring that realistic feel to them instead of high shine polished silver.I believe that If I were to further this specific technique and with other mixed materials there's a lot I could achieve going forward.
